What Materials Are Suitable For Agricultural Machinery Mufflers?

Due to the harsh working conditions, the requirements for agricultural machinery mufflers are quite different from those of ordinary automobiles. The material choice is a core point.
Shell material: High-temperature-resistant stainless steel (such as 409/436) is the top choice, as it is both high-temperature resistant and vibration-fatigue resistant. To save costs, high-quality carbon steel can also be used for the outer shell, but the surface requires coating treatment.
Filling material: Given the exhaust gas temperature of agricultural machinery is very high, ordinary glass wool must never be used, and special high-temperature-resistant sound-absorbing materials such as stainless steel wire wool or rock wool must be selected.
Safety Coating: For many agricultural mufflers are made of carbon steel, their rust resistance relies entirely on high-temperature-resistant coatings. The coating must be able to withstand high temperatures of 500°C–800°C for an extended period with salt spray corrosion resistance and mechanical impact resistance.
